It is with great pleasure, energy and excitement that I take office as the PMIAK President for the 2016-2017 term. I feel honored for having the opportunity to lead such a vibrant and engaged group of volunteers. As a matter of fact, my predecessors did such a good job in this leading position that I think my role is to continue what has been done and add my vision and innovative ideas to it. Thus PMIAK message can go further, grow larger, and maintain its members even more engaged. Our ultimate goal continues to be the promotion of the project management profession in Alaska by creating opportunities for your development and growth as project managers. We are committed to offer you opportunities that include certification courses, events, materials, tool kits, social events for networking and much more. This year – after several tests run last year – we are webcasting to members located in remote areas of Alaska. Now those members can register and remotely participate in our activities, such as monthly meetings and conferences, and report the PDUs (Professional Development Units) required to maintain their credentials. My fellow Board members and I invite you to stay with us, participate in our activities, spread the word about what is happening at PMIAK in 2016 and 2017 and invite more Alaskan project managers to be part of our Chapter. I am sure we will all do great things together!!
